What's new?Webmaster

Webmaster Jeff Blumenthal

Now that we added a link to the php BB3 Members Only Bulletin Board system on the site to eliminate questions, etc. regarding the operation of the Board, we can concentrate on functionality and operation.

I need help! If you are semi-literate (can read an instruction manual) and would like to impact the design direction and management of the site, let me know. We need moderators for the Forums and a person to work on the calendar schedule of events that is a part of the regular site. I'm not sure anyone looks at it, but it allows us to put everything tied to a date into a common place. That means our rides and social events, but also birthdays, anniversaries, other rides -- you name it. The key is getting the information. It's easy with a little training to actually input and edit the data, much like the Outlook Calendar many use.

I'm serious about the need for help in taking this site to the next level. So far it's been relatively easy to add things and respond to requests, but at this point we have to be a bit more clever and refined.

Change Log (Not including content updates)

Hard to believe that so much time has gone by. We did do upgrades to both the Board and to the Calendar systems that utilize outside code. It wasn't easy and the Calendar was down for several days. Rides are being firmed up, so check for details. Also, members should update their profiles on the Board, as that's our next line of attack -- a member directory. I am still looking for volunteers to provide content and technical support.

We've made a number of changes -- some visible, some not. The phpBB3 forum was upgraded to a newer version that allows RSS feeds (Google RSS if you don't know about syndication) in addition to the subscription option. There is now a Membership List that provides a space for each member at their option to include additional contact and biographical information. Some unused forums have been eliminated and others combined. Work continues on finding a good way to present and document those fabulous rides we hold every season.
